Carlos Alberto Zuleta Bechara is a General Physician from the University of Sinú, Cartagena. He is a specialist in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received his medical specialization from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Argentina in Buenos Aires.

Sports have been a fundamental part in his life, so he has dedicated more than 20 years to those. Dr. Zuleta Bechara has even won several IronMan prices, in the country and has competed in numerous marathons around the world. Sometimes, he travels many miles by bicycle in his regular training.

WORK CAREER

He completed his first residency at “El Bosque University Clinic”, and in the important medical centers district of Simón Bolívar as well. His second medical residency took place in the city of Cartagena. Then, during his four years in Argentina, he was the surgery assistant of recognized doctors such as doctors Agustín H. Ali and Diego Capponi as part of his plastic surgery residency.
Dr. Zuleta Bechara has been authored, co-authored and lectured in academic research fields about fat grafting, autologous facial area as filler substance in a previously irradiated area, treatment of bilateral trochanter ulcer with vacuum system and fasciatomocutaneous flap of fascia lata, application of hyaluronic acid membrane as a biological cutaneous substitute in lower limb wound, among others.
Dr. Zuleta was coauthor of the technique “Dermoglandular Support Flap in Mastopexy with Implants. The Hammock Technique “which works for breasts that have descended and have lost their natural shape. He was a pioneer in the implementation of Athletic Definition. This procedure has become very successful and one of the most requested in his offices.
